In order to face the increasing demand from European internet retailers for our support in their cross border e-commerce activities, E-Commerce in Holland managed to engage Peter van Laere as an associated partner with its consultancy activities for online retailers. Peter has a long track record in mailorder and e-commerce as a senior manager and managing director for the German Neckermann Retail Group. He worked for Neckermann in 10 countries and had been a managing director for neckermann.com in the Benelux countries for 7 years when he left the company in 2011. During this period, Peter also was a board member for the Trade Organisations for homeshopping and e-commerce in The Netherlands (Thuiswinkel.org), Belgium (BeCommerce) and Europe (EMOTA). During the past 4 years, he successfully started and grew a retail business in solar panels and was involved in the launch of Safeshops.be, the new Belgian trust mark for online retail. Peter has a broad experience as general manager in e-commerce and in buying (fashion, hardware and furniture), logistics and customer care and is available to clients who need support in these fields or on other cross border issues.
Ed Hensen (founder of E-Commerce in Holland) and Peter worked closely together in the management of neckermann.com between 2009 and 2011, where they successfully managed to shift the focus from mail order to online in Holland and Belgium. After neckermann.de went bankrupt in Germany in 2013, neckermann.com was continued under a new owner and a new management.
